The Montgomery Homeownership Program II, an initiative of the Maryland Mortgage Program in partnership with Montgomery County, gives eligible homebuyers purchasing in Montgomery County up to $25,000 in down payment assistance.

Maryland Opportunity Grant

​Maryland Opportunity Grant assists income selected homebuyers with down payment and closing costs associated with purchasing a home in Maryland using the Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) for Freddie Mac HFA Advantage, conventional mortgages only. We offer an outright grant of 2% of the first loan to support the down payment and closing costs for borrowers with total income up to the level stated for each county.

Project Reinvest in Baltimore City

Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore’s Program, Project Reinvest: Homeownership, provides eligible homebuyers purchasing in Baltimore City with $10,500 in down payment assistance which can now be combined with a Maryland Mortgage home loan to make homeownership even more affordable.

Maryland Mortgage Grant Assist

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development is introducing a new homebuying incentive in the form of a grant valued at 4% of the first mortgage amount. The Maryland Mortgage Grant Assist is available as part of a Maryland Mortgage program home loan, and the grant is used to help eligible homebuyers pay closing costs or down payment. For FHA loans, any additional funds available in excess of closing costs is applied to principal reduction.

Prince George's County Pathway to Purchase

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, in partnership with the Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development and the Redevelopment Authority, is providing attractive financial incentives to help make purchasing a home in Prince George's County even more affordable. 

Through the County's Pathway to Purchase Program, offering up to $10,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance, and Maryland's Preferred Rate Program, offering our lowest possible interest rate for a 30-year mortgage, homebuyers in Prince George's County can get a home loan that is affordable today and for the life of the loan.

Maryland SmartBuy

The Maryland SmartBuy initiative helps homebuyers with eligible student debt purchase a home.  The program offers highly attractive financing and closing cost assistance for move-in ready homes, including loan forgiveness of up to 15% of the purchase price.

Extending the Maryland "You've Earned It!" Initiative

The Maryland "You've Earned It!" is continuing to help make homeownership more accessible to Marylanders hampered by significant student loan debt. 

The Maryland "You've Earned It!" program is open to potential homebuyers with more than $25,000 in student loan debt who are buying a home in one of Maryland’s Sustainable Communities through the Maryland Mortgage Program. Borrowers receive a 0.25 percent reduction in the Maryland Mortgage Program standard 30-year mortgage rate and $5,000 in Down Payment Assistance.
