Sell More With Maryland

Real Estate Agents are often the first people that homebuyers talk to when they're ready to purchase their first home. The Maryland Mortgage Program, provided by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, is designed to make it easier for Marylanders to own a home by providing down payment help (in the form of loans or grants) and federal tax credits.

We want to make it easier for you to get the best and most up-to-date information about these programs to your clients, and be your partners in helping Maryland homebuyers. The Maryland Mortgage Program loan product calculator can help you identify products that fit your customers' needs.

You can download the Maryland Mortgage Program Kit, or request multiple copies to share with customers, by going to our Marketing Tools page.

Certification

Maryland REALTORS® (mdrealtor.org) provides training to licensed real estate agents in Maryland focusing on first time homebuyer programs, especially the Maryland Mortgage Program. Upon completion of this training, agents receive their Housing Opportunity Certification (HOC), and this means that they can provide homebuyers with up-to-date and useful guidance on using the Maryland Mortgage Program. When asked about real estate agents, we direct interested borrowers to the HOC list on the Maryland REALTORS® website. For information on obtaining that certification, contact Maryland REALTORS®.
